From Djanet by off-road vehicle and on foot into the Tadrart area

15 days, one to ten people
Day 1: Departure from an airport near you to Algiers. Arrival in Algiers and transit for a flight to Djanet. Arrival in Djanet shortly before midnight. Welcome by Tahar and his team with their off-road vehicles and transfer to the bivouac.
Day 2: After breakfast, drive towards Tadrart in an off-road vehicle. Visit the engravings of Haouat and the rock paintings of Tin Assasou. Overnight stay in the area.
Day 3: After breakfast, cross the Imharhaten plateau and enter the Amenenat depression, a former lake bed. Night in the El Berdj valley.
Day 4: From now until the twelfth day, there will be two easy hikes of 2 hours each day. However, if you have any problems, you can always take a car. Drive through the El Berj valley with its bizarre rock formations. Along the way, you will see paintings and engravings. Lunch and overnight stay in the El Berdj valley.
Day 5: The valley opens out into the wide area of Moul Naga with the first high dunes of the Tadrart. Dune hike. Lunch in Moul Naga. Sunset on a dune. Overnight stay in Moul Naga.
Day 6: Visit to the Tehe Tahosseiet area. Lunch at the picturesque rock formations of the great rock arch of Tamesgida. You will cross the small yellow dunes. Night at Ouan Zaouatan.

Day 7: You will visit the engravings at Ouan Fessur (elephants and erotic scenes), followed by more engravings and the bull with a bell at Ouan Zaouatan. Lunch break at the rock of In Tehak. Visit to more paintings and the guelta of Bohediene. Overnight stay near more stone arches.
Day 8: In the Til Affasou valley, you will see three rock faces with impressive engravings and some paintings. The Ouan Agan rock basin with its washed-out gorges was created by the confluence of three streams. You will pass the Coupe du Monde, the camel rider and other stone sculptures. Overnight stay in the Tin Merzouga area.
Day 9: Rest day in Tin Merzouga. Explore the magnificent dune landscape.
Day 10: You turn into the mouth of the meandering In Djaren valley. Paintings of Ouan Oxem. Engravings of giraffes in Ouan Ahar, rock face with engravings of elephants in Ouan Oni. Lunch in Ouan Ekli. Night near Tissetka.
Day 11: Continue to the beginning of the Oued In Djaren. Continue through the Amenenat valley and the Tin Eressou plateau. Lunch in Tanaout. Overnight stay in Amais.
Day 12: After breakfast, drive west to visit the Tin Akaham cave. In the afternoon, hike to the Tin Hanakaten cave. Bivouac in the area.

Day 13: Hike through the tree-lined Amais Valley, where you are likely to encounter nomads. Lunch on site. Later, you will see a stone sculpture of an elephant and a large round tomb. In Terarart, visit the world-famous petroglyph of the weeping cows. Overnight stay in the area.
Day 14: Visit to the oasis of Djanet. Hike through the gardens to the Jahil spring. Lunch in the gardens. Visit to the El Mihane fortress and the market hall. Optional visit to the very informative Sahara Museum in Djanet. Transfer to the airport in the evening.
Day 15: Very early morning flight to Algiers, connecting flight to destination airport and return home.
€1950 per participant (round trip only, from/to Djanet Airport). This price increases by 200% for a participant travelling alone and by 50% per participant for two participants. Minor changes to the programme are possible.
You are welcome to combine this two-week trip with another (also in a shortened form).
